History
The Rabi are a very unorganized species. They’re scattered in tribes of varying sizes across Djanna’s desolate surface, rarely communicating with one another, much less other races. In fact, when the human fleet began harvesting hydrocarbon from the planet’s crust, for several months they didn’t even know they had intruded on a very aggressive species’ homeworld. Upon discovering this, however, the corporation responsible for the harvesting plant (the Belial Corporation) refused to leave, claiming that the planet’s hyrdocarbon resources were too rich to simply be ignored. It would be inaccurate to say that this ignited a war between the humans and the Rabi, because only a select few Rabi tribes actually joined the conflict, but nevertheless the Belial Corporation was forced to hire a small army of mercenaries to protect the farmers. Since then, bloody conflicts have erupted apparently at random. Little else of the species’ history is known.
Biology
The most humanoid in appearance of all the Chronos System’s races, the Rabi are actually one of the least human species you can imagine. They care little for the sake of their species, and more often than not, prefer to operate alone. Only half of the species takes any interest at all in mating; romance is not very common on Djanna. Although this lack of ability to work together prevents the Rabi from becoming technological giants, they are incredibly clever and extremely quick on the uptake, utilizing stolen alien tech to their advantage. Extremely skilled thieves, they are the only aliens capable of stealing from the Marenox, who guard their homes with unparalleled ferocity. Although excessively rare, some Rabi have been known to form bonds with humans. These relationships are complex and hard to document, but the race’s ethics vary from Rabi to Rabi, you’re as likely to meet a Rabi who takes a fancy to you as you are to meet a Rabi who would enjoy dining on your lungs. The species is rather hard to predict.
