Music, Logos, and Aliens

Back again, kids. Today, the update doesn’t contain so much programming and design stuff, and focuses more on those little superficial things that make a video game what it is. Namely, the logo, the music, and the website.

Lyger is hard at work painting the Schism logo, and it looks great. So great, it’s provoked extreme envy amongst the other artists, especially myself. Indeed, the little green-eyed monster is, as we speak, clawing its way free from my stomach, kind of like that thing from Alien. Any day now, it’s going to burst free and start killing the other teammates.

… My editor has just informed me that last metaphor was far too weird to be exposed to the viewing public. So, to distract from it, I’m going to babble about music for a bit.

Here at Anaglyph, we’ve got two music composers on the team, ConsciousAutomaton and PowersWithin. These two actually compose themes for us (and I know this sounds crazy) for free. The music itself is amazing, and should add a level of what Algernon calls “atmosphere” and what the rest of the team refers to as “awesome factor” to the game.

Extreme Website Overlord Epsilon has been busy tweaking the website to make sure it’s as easy-to-read and visually pleasing as possible. Along with the collaboration of Algernon, the “Games” section of the site is now up and running. I know, it was weird having a game studio website without a properly functioning games section. We’re still missing the Ego-Stroking section of the site (commonly known as the “Staff” page), but I guess the guys have to tackle these problems one at a time.

Well, that’s all for this week. Be sure to check back next Friday for more unneccessary pimpage of the Anaglyph Store. Ta!
