History
A decade prior to the first human landing on God’s Haven, the Marenox had begun a long and violent war with the Averaptors. This war is significant in that it marks the first (though probably not last) inter-species war in the Chronos system, and in the bloody years that followed, the military ability of both species has become incredibly advanced. The Marenox, while initially preferring a swarm tactic, quickly utilized other forms of warfare. Now their tech has become so well rounded that the Averaptors are the only species equipped to challenge them, and should the Marenox prove victorious in this war, they could easily wipe out the scattered human settlements and less advanced species like the Ignids and Rabi.
Biology
Even in their most primitive days, the Marenox considered themselves to be drastically superior to other species on their planet. Often grouping together in large numbers to fight off predators, the least that can be said about Marenox sociology is that they understand the power of unity, an asset that has proven exponentially effective in past conflicts. The ease with which they can overcome their differences and stand as a single entity against all opposition is disconcerting at best- extraterrestrial biologists have speculated that this efficient power of organization comes from their strong belief in the superiority of their species. Unfortunately, this same trait also makes the Marenox incredibly unwilling to ally with other varieties of alien species, despite what they could stand to gain from such a union. Although unusual for a species of such aggression, the Marenox mate for life. With our limited understanding of Marenox evolution, this only serves as another example of their commitment to their own kind, and the resulting vehemence for all foreigners.
